It is no secret that the financial literacy of people in our country is low. You could say the same thing about the understanding of the economy. The following is a list of books that I believe everybody should read in order to be well informed about the economy. If you only had to read one book, I would recommend Economics in One Lesson. It is the best introduction to the Austrian School of Economics.
- Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt
- How an Economy Grows and Why It Crashes by Peter Schiff
- The Case Against the Fed by Murray N. Rothbard
- The Biggest Con by Irwin A. Schiff
- Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Friedman
- Greenspan’s Bubbles by Bill Fleckenstein
- The Collapse of the Dollar and How to Profit from It by James Turk
- A History of Money and Banking in the United States by Murray N. Rothbard
- Currency Wars by James Rickards
